Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

The adoption of renewable energy is crucial for Nigeria’s sustainable development, especially in rural areas like Jalingo North LGA in Taraba State. Renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power offer a viable solution to the energy challenges faced by many communities, providing an alternative to unreliable grid power. Advertising plays a significant role in raising awareness about the benefits of renewable energy and encouraging its adoption. According to Aliyu and Nwachukwu (2023), effective advertising campaigns can help inform communities about the availability, affordability, and advantages of renewable energy solutions. This study explores the influence of advertising on the adoption of renewable energy in Jalingo North LGA, examining the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and the factors that drive renewable energy adoption.
